 Dust simulation


Dust simulation worked so much better in comparison to Cloth simulation. My only complain would be the rendering time.....It took ages to render the full sequence. I ended up only rendering 2/3 of the sequence since I reconsidered and realized I don't really want dust halfway through the sequence.


Setting up the fluid system

Dust emitter

Works pretty good, just need to tweak a couple values to make it more realistic


Setting a Y-axis boundary so that the dust won't blast upwards


The spinning effect is achieved using Vortex and Turbulence field

Animating the intensity of the simulation across the timeline

Adding a bit of color and adjusting the lighting and contrast of the smoke

Set up render layers to separate the dust simulation with the lighting and motion capture sequence
